Ridge capping is the row of curved tiles running along the peaks and hips of a tiled roof. The caps sit on a bed of mortar and are sealed with pointing. Over the years, sun, heat and movement in the roof crack that mortar, and caps start to rock or lift. On older tiled homes in Nundah, loose ridge capping is one of the most common gaps a possum uses.
